Semana 11:  martes el 7 de noviembre

11/7/2017

Resumen:
We learned the months and asked and answered each other about which month our birthdays were in.  Revisamos la tarea de la cancion "El Perdon." We practiced inviting each other to do things and accepting and refusing.  We briefly reviewed vocabulary -- reflexive verbs and parts of the body-- and we began to look at how to conjugate reflexive verbs.  We'll continue working on conjugating reflexive verbs on Thursday.

La tarea:
1)  Take a few minutes to explore this interactive website of Machu Picchu:
  http://www.airpano.ru/files/Machu-Picchu-Peru/2-2
2) Then watch this video and do the accompanying exercise on the website:
http://www.ver-taal.com/cultura_20151206_peru3.htm
3) Your received a handout about Machu Picchu and the weather in class. First, skim the text for cognates and note them to right of the text.  Do the pre-reading skimming exercise to summarize each section.  Then read the article.  After reading, answer the T/F questions at the end.  We will review this in class.
4) Estudiar los meses:  https://quizlet.com/_2xg5rb y las estaciones:  https://quizlet.com/_2xg5on
Learn the terms for the weather:  https://quizlet.com/_2xg5hc
5) On the last page of the handout there is an activity using the Weather Channel in Spanish.  Here is the link for it:  Ir al Weather Channel en español: https://weather.com/es-US
Do this exercise and we will review it in class.
6) Expect a quiz on verbs that irregular in the "yo" form, adjectives using SER + ESTAR, and also the terms for the weather, months and seasons.  (I've put off this quiz twice but we will have it on Thursday without fail).

7)  Don't forget to keep working on Rosetta Stone.
