Semana 11: viernes el 10 de noviembre

11/11/2017

1) LR #4 deadline is postponed.  It will be due Friday the 17th.  No more make up reports after that date.

2)  Take a few minutes to explore this interactive website of Machu Picchu:
  http://www.airpano.ru/files/Machu-Picchu-Peru/2-2
Then watch this video and do the accompanying exercise on the website (you won't understand all the language-- that's ok, just enjoy it):
http://www.ver-taal.com/cultura_20151206_peru3.htm
3) You received a handout about Machu Picchu and the weather in class. First, skim the text for cognates and note them to right of the text.  Do the pre-reading skimming exercise to summarize each section.  Then read the article.  After reading, answer the T/F questions at the end.  We will review this in class.
4) Keep studying if you need to-- los meses:  https://quizlet.com/_2xg5rb y las estaciones:  https://quizlet.com/_2xg5on
Learn the terms for the weather if you haven't:  https://quizlet.com/_2xg5hc
5) On the last page of the handout there is an activity using the Weather Channel in Spanish.  Here is the link for it:  Ir al Weather Channel en español: https://weather.com/es-US
Do this exercise and we will review it in class. Use the search bar at the top of the page to find the places and their weather requested in the handout (Buenos Aires,Argentina; Sydney, Australia; la Ciudad de Mexico; Bogota, Colombia; New Haven, CT)
6) ) SAM Chapter 4 Activities 5, 8, 12, 13. If you have the electronic book, I recommend: Ch 4 Act. 6, 8, 9 (I hope to do Act. 4 & 5 in class next week).  Quiz on these SAM activities next week.
7) Don't forget about
Rosetta Stone. Remember, it doesn't matter what you choose to do (you can skip around, not only by topic and type of activity but also level) but you must do 15 hours' worth.
